Book Review: Silent Spring

   READ IT!

Silent Spring by Rachel Carson
We all know chemicals are bad for us - as well as the world around us. But how? And why?  What are the actual effects of pesticides and herbicides on our bodies? And what about the land, the animals - what happens to them?  This book explores what happens when we act before we think, and lays out the catastrophic consequences of working against natural laws instead of with them.  In this epic book, Rachel Carson makes a profound and detailed argument against chemicals and a compelling encouragement to the organic way of life. This book became one of the galvanizing works of the "Back to the Land" movement of the 60's and 70's, as well the anti-nuclear protests after the Vietnam War.
Must reading for those that want to live long and well.  This will tell you exactly how to avoid toxins in food, water, and air.  Definitely read it!
